Jimmy's Donut

Jimmy’s Donut was a story my mom used to tell about my brother and I when we were little.
Although she passed away in 2016, her legacy lives on and her mastery of story-telling lives on in this funny little piece.

My intention was to do a series of these and animate her stories, but unfortunately, I was only able to record a couple of them before she left us.

Hospital Coloring Book

Meet Scrubs!

Another fun project, this time for a local hospital.
Athens Regional Medical Center (Now Piedmont Healthcare) approached me to create a coloring book for their youngest patients. This was handed out to patients for their extended stays in the hospital, and as a collateral handout for events and other purposes.

In the book, we follow ”Scrubs”, the hospital’s mascot, in his escapades while we learn basic etiquette and tips on staying healthy. Scrubs engages in normal youthful activity, and learns quick and easy ways to stay safe. But in the event that he does end up at the hospital, the coloring book offers interesting ways to handle life’s little bumps in the road.

Dogs...

Every once in a while I have the opportunity to work on a truly fun project with a good friend. This was one of those projects.

The idea was for a TV show outlining the vast influence and humble beginnings of man’s best friend….

Dogs.

The story was a linear timeline of historical connections and trivia about canines. From the genetic ancestry of all dogs, to the gradual domestication of our furry pals, and eventually to the companionship in the modern household, the history is both entertaining and informative.

The format was for 30 minute episodes, 13 in total.

Project work

Project work can be the staple of creative inspiration. I’ve included project illustrations from customer work to spec work to fun experiments for future publications.

The first drawings in this section were completed for my son’s bedroom. Before he was born, his mother and I decided to decorate the nursery with whimsical characters. As such, I was inspired to create a series of critters for the young lad before he came home.

Other works are from varying ideas and inspiration over the years.
